About Us

Noise is a trading platform for relevance. Users long and short contracts on trends, brands, and ideas — taking positions on where attention is headed. Prices combine real-time social data with trading activity, producing an objective measure of cultural relevance that updates continuously. We're a team of 10 based in New York City. Pedigree matters less than risk tolerance, high agency, and the ability to apply ideas across disciplines.

Build In The Unknown

When we first told people what we wanted Noise to be, the responses ranged from “stupid” to “this will never work.” A few VCs told us flat-out that no one would ever want a product like this. In those early days, with no users to point to, we had to rely on instinct and keep moving anyway.

Being contrarian is never comfortable. Most people believe that what is working will always work. They mistake competition for validation. It’s far more interesting to seek nonobvious truths, to remain product first, and to ship new things.

Seek Truth Rapidly

In the first year, we spent months cycling through Figma mockups, swapping designs, and redrawing frontends. Eight versions later — including an interface inspired by Flappy Bird — we were still mulling over the same questions. We obsessed over small decisions and debated for hours without moving forward.

Unsure if your code will work? Run it. Unsure if a data provider is good enough? Get trial access. Unsure how users will respond? Put it in front of them. Data replaced speculation.

Disagree and Commit

Getting the exchange right for Noise has been one of the hardest challenges we’ve faced. Endless paths, ethical tradeoffs, and technical complexity. The summer of 2025 was a painful stretch when ideological debate dragged on and differing opinions took precedence over action.

Consensus is optional. Alignment is mandatory. Once a decision is made, the debate ends. We commit as one, own the outcome, and execute together.

Action Your Taste

The first Macintosh team left their mark in 1984, engraving their names beneath each computer’s motherboard. Great artists sign their work even if no one else ever sees it. What a team creates is inseparable from who they are.
